This part of my life is under construction...

Looking back, I had (ya now I can say "had" : ) ) few personal goals
1. Get a sleek mobile (as I said few years back!)
2. Get a bike (er..)
3. Do M.C.A (I know.. too much, was a bit weak in grades!)
4. Own a house

I bought my first mobile (Nokia 3310) and bike (Hero Honda - Passion) during my first job, did MCA part-time and scored first-class (couldn't believe myself!). Now, I am at the last one - constructing my own sweet little home.. sounds nice, huh!

For everyone who lives in a rented place, owning one would be a dream. To dream its one thing, to make it a reality is another. Its located a little away from where I now live, but who cares!

The initial plan was to construct a duplex, then we decided to go with a two floored - double bedroom, so that my parents would have some company, that is if they decide to rent it out later. The below are few snaps I managed to take while I was at home last feb, the first floor was under construction then. BTW, the guy with the red cap is my dad, supervising ;)

The only part I played was choosing the design, color and the cash, the rest was all my dad's effort. Thanks to him, now that he voluntarily retired and my sister is married, this will keep him busy as obviously I can't do much being here in Dubai.

House warming is planned for July 31, hopefully my leave gets approved and I'll be on my way.. Yes ofcourse you are welcome, just don't mess my home ;)

Now, stop thinking about what my next goals would be and go for yours...

What kept me busy...

It took me 2 years (since I landed in Dubai) and 3 drafts to post my first blog. Finally, I decided to publish atleast one during my lifetime! Thanks to the autosave feature of Google, this blog survives. What am I doing in Dubai? I am working for Emirates Airlines IT Dept.

Its funny that few years ago before Emirates I took an oath with my friends that we'll fly on a plane atleast once. To fly was a dream then... And now, I have not only flied on a world class plane, I am also working for them.

What is keeping me busy? My last project was to work on the new Microsoft's Surface and my job is to update the contents and keep the system up. And just like others, my first reaction was "WOW" and in couple of months since we got, Emirates unveiled the E-Zone.

google for the rest...

It was amusing to see kids jumping on it to draw on the postcard app and checking their fingers to see if it took colors dipping in the palette. Microsoft calls it a Natural User Interface (NUI), coming after its GUI. Honestly, the snaps don't tell much and you have to touch it to feel the excitement.

We also have placed couple of Tablet PCs, XBox pentapod (5 sided XBox), XBox Racing simulator in the zone.

Apart from Surfacing, my role is to offer solutions on document management (I Know!) and administrating the Documentum servers and platform for the entire group. Its challenging and I am learning! as it is also the first time for me.

Why so many firsts? before I came to Emirates, I was a Multimedia developer working Flash ActionScript and Director Lingo programming, eLearning.... I have had quite a ride.

I am guessing, what's next....?
